the creative introvert in the extrovert world

The creative introvert is highly attuned and sensitive to her surroundings. Her senses are peaked and monitoring. She can feel the vibe of those around her. She treads lightly as to not disturb…disturb nature, disturb the equilibrium, disturb the other beings in her orbit.

The creative introvert is highly attuned and sensitive to her surroundings. Her senses are peaked and monitoring. She can feel the vibe of those around her. She treads lightly as to not disturb…disturb nature, disturb the equilibrium, disturb the other beings in her orbit.

She starts her day with hopes, dreams and visions of all she wants to be and do in her world.

But first, she must venture into the extroverted out there.

She checks in with her phone world and sees a combination of cute animals, world injustices, and friends' vacations. She responds to her personal messages, crafting genuine responses.

Going about her day, the creative introvert takes it all in. She observes when someone in the grocery store, unaware, is about to run their cart into someone else. She hears the baby cry and sends the mother feelings of love and strength. She offers kind words to the checkout worker and tries to make their day a little lighter.

Whether a working or free day, there are appointments and people. The pace and energy is always moving around her and seeping inside her. Lights, chatter, weather variations.

Every daily experience leaves her a little more drained and overstimulated. Her capacity for her morning dreams and visions of creative projects have dimmed. Something requiring her attention takes over.

She pushes on. There is more to do. There is always more to do.

By evening, she has a little left in the tank to scrape together something nourishing. She watches a show while she eats to drown out the swirls of the day’s activities and energies.

Her inner world has absorbed the outer world. She curls up in something comfy and zones out until bedtime.

Surely tomorrow will bring more space for her hopes, dreams and visions. Sleep dear one.

(lights out)
